The Dead Zone is a film based on the king if horror Stephen Kings book of the same name. It stars Christopher Walken as Johnny Smith; someone who can predict the future, and Martin Sheen as Greg Stillson, the senator / president wannabe.

It starts off with Johnny finishing work as a school teacher, who while on his way home slams into a truck, whose driver just about falls asleep. After being in a coma for 5 years, he wakes and finds himself with the power to be able to see into a person’s future by holding their hand.

The features on the disc include the standard theatrical trailer, and sound selection between Dolby 5.1 and 2.0. There isn’t a part in the movie which makes use of the Dolby 5.1 which is a waste, but it still heightens the experience as the sound has been deepened and presents itself as a more ambient mix.

The Dead Zone is a must for all those Stephen King fanatics, or even for those that enjoy a little bit of horror without all the hack and slash.
