'Coupling' is an outrageously funny British comedy that revolves around the lives and loves of six kooky characters. I can almost guarantee that it will leave you with aches and pains, you will laugh that much. The BBC has definitely made quite a name for themselves producing a different variety of fantastic comedy series'.

The series centers on the lives of Steve, as the misunderstood but true romantic at heart, Susan, the sassy blonde, Patrick the chauvinistic womaniser, Sally, the vain self involved hussy, Jane the kooky but loveable stalker and Jeff, the funnyman of the group, who has some great one liners. The disc features six episodes, all of which offer great comedic value. There is a particularly funny episode which features Jeff falling for a very attractive lady only to have huge problems closing the language barrier. It's great! There are no extras on this disc but it is always hard to show extras when it is a series.

When I was watching this disc, a lot of the features in each episodes reminded me of something that I had seen before and, at first, I couldn't work out what it was. Then it hit me! There are a lot of similarities between 'Coupling' and American sitcom 'Friends.' Each of the characters in 'Coupling' resembles a character in 'Friends.' Steve and Ross, Susan and Rachel, Patrick and Joey, Sally and Monica, Jane and Phoebe and Jeff and Chandler. 'Coupling' is the British 'Friends' with more sex.

My thumbs go up to the writers for creating an interesting script that, I think, will appeal to almost everyone. The choices made to select the cast could not have been better. Each cast member works well with the others, all giving perfectly timed comic lines and  reactions. The show is also filmed in front of a live audience which, if possible, adds to the funniness of each episode.

This DVD would be a great Sunday night watch. When you can just sit back, relax and have lots of laughs with some friends. A friend of mine had actually mentioned to me that she had gotten hooked on a British series called Coupling. She explained it to me and I thought it sounded quite funny so when I was given the disc to review I was definitely excited. The series superceded my expectations and I will definitely be recommending it to my friends as well. I know that I will be waiting in anticipation for series two.
