If you like your love stories to have a quirky twist to them, then Amelie is the movie for you. Starring the absolutely gorgeous Audrey Tautou, Amelie is the story of a young woman looking for love and also looking to help others find love and happiness as well with very mixed results!

I found Amelie engrossing from the very beginning with a brief introduction to the character told through the persona of a third person narrator. Imbued with an impish look and a myriad of cute faces, Amelie will warm your heart and tickle your funnybone all at the same time

The cast and the way they are all portrayed within the title are truly unique and absolutely wonderful. You will bond with, and care about them all before the end of the movie.

The transfer to DVD with this title is perfect with no errors coming across during the transfer. The film was given a saturated green wash to highlight certain parts of the movie and I noticed that during key scenes, other colours were also affected in this manner to make them stand out. The film is presented in 16:9 widescreen.

The disc gives you two audio options. Both are French audio and the choice is 5.1 or 2.0 however I only tested the 5.1 setup. It was nice to see that this disc utilises every speaker to great effect and the soundtrack running through the film is a mixture of traditional instruments and French songs.

The extras on the disc are nice however they don't go for very long. What you do get is quality however it's all too short lived for my liking. My favourite part in the extras is "Audrey Tautou's funny faces" which is a short blooper reel. Other extras are a short behind the scenes look at the movie and a picture gallery.

This film is beautiful, funny, witty and I highly commend it to everyone!
