With smart phones becoming an integral part of our lives, listening to our own personal soundtracks has never been easier. However the only downside to listening to music on smart phones is the audio quality and of course outside noise. I'm sure world deafness rates have increased as a result! Thankfully our friends at Logitech have addressed both these issues with their range of Ultimate Ears Noise-Isolating Earphones. The premise behind these earphones is not only to reduce background sound but also to produce some exceptional sound quality. Does it work? You betcha!
So how is this possible? Thanks to the unique soft ear cushions that attach to the earphones, this creates a snug fit with your ears and as a result, reduces background sound. It does take a little in getting use to these cushions in your ears but the end result is rather impressive. The ear cushions that come with this product come in five different sizes, ensuring that people with a wide variety of ears can use this product comfortably. By fitting them correctly and comfortably with your ear, the noise isolation as stated by Logitech is -22 dB which dramatically reduces outside sound. It's perfect for being in the gym, especially with exercise machines and the gym's music playing in the background. Technical specifications
Earphone Type: In-ear

Once you have found the ear cushion that
fits you, you simply attach them to the ends of the
earphones and presto, noise cancellation is activated. Another great
feature is that the cushions are quite durable and best of all, sweat
resistant. Perfect for those that want to run or perform other sports.
They are also very light which is another bonus!
Compatibility
Smartphones: iPhone, Blackberry
and other phones with standard 3.5 mm
jack
Portable media players: iPod and MP3, video, and DVD players with standard 3.5 mm jack Laptops and computers: Laptops and computers with standard 3.5 mm jack Home audio: Home audio systems with standard 3.5 mm jack Gaming consoles: Gaming consoles with standard 3.5 mm jack
I compared these earphones with my
authentic Apple iPhone earphones and there was a huge difference. The
first thing you notice is that outside sound is greatly reduced. Then
you have the music quality which produces a wide range of levels with
some decent use of bass. I also found that I could listen to my music
considerably lower than with my Apple earphones. Hopefully this prevent
any more hearing damage. Another good aspect about the earphones is that
the cable is longer than my iPhone earphones which does make using them
a little easier in certain situations.
Connection
Cable length:
45 inches (115 cm)
Input type: Angled Input connector: 1/8 inch (3.5mm) The product also comes with a protective carry box so when you're not using your earphones, you can simply put them in the box. What I didn't like about the Ultimate Ears 350's was the lack of a volume switch on the earphones or a microphone ability for smart phones. However this option is available for the next model up. Final Thoughts? All in all, the Ultimate Ears 350 Noise-Isolating Earphones are a brilliant product from Logitech that not only reduces background sound but creates some exceptionally clear audio that has been unheard of with earphones so small. These are awesomely good and quite affordably priced! |
