Clarkson is a legend. He’s funny, he’s witty and he does what most males can only dream about… host a popular and long running TV series and drive some of the world’s fastest cars. So if you haven’t heard about Top Gear than obviously you’ve been living in a cave or you couldn’t give a toss about cars. If you’re still reading, you must be the former and of course not everything Clarkson makes turns to gold and unfortunately some of his specials, without the Top Gear label have been less than impressive and thankfully Clarkson Duel falls into the middle. When you think of the word “duel” and then add Clarkson to it, you’d be hoping to expect something like those whacky races that has made Top Gear so popular but in the actual fact, it’s more of a Top Gear light episode and if you’ve been following the series, than you’ve already seen most of the cars that appear on this feature. The tests they put the cars through are hilarious such as taking a corner in slippers or some really cool drag racing. This one-off special does have a few standout moments, besides Clarkson’s humour such as The Stig as his co-host… sort of and even a cameo from the gang of Fifth Gear who get involved in an amusing skit with The Stig. All kidding aside, Clarkson Duel features some impressive car stunts as they race, drift and even basically be almost as silly as Clarkson is on Top Gear. The one-off is matched with good video quality and an interesting behind the scenes segment plus some other (a little boring) things as well. Running at just over an hour, Clarkson Duel is a little low on content but high on laughs and if you’re a fan of Clarkson, than this is a worthy buy but if you’re a fan of Top Gear, you might want to rent before you buy. Nonetheless it’s a decent presentation that is almost as slick as Top Gear itself. Special Features:
