This second straight to DVD release of Futurama is somewhat like three episodes all mingled into one but is still quite entertaining, especially from the plethora of extras that makes this a worthy purchase. It also contains some insights into the "future" of Futurama, however back to the review.
Futurama the Beast with a Billion Backs
once again reunites all your favourite Futurama characters from Fry
to Bender and Leela to Zoidberg and this installment features
Brittany Murphy as Fry's new girlfriend, David Cross as the
planet-sized Yivo and Professor Stephen Hawking as himself. That's
right and quite unbelievable, given the scene with Stephen Hawking
having cybersex with his partner... it's politically incorrect but
quite humour. Fry becomes Yivo's representative on Earth (in the form of a Space-Pope) and preaches the surrender of free will and acceptance of Yivo's tentacular glory. The only beings immune to Yivo's influence are the robots which of course includes our friend Bender. The Beast with a Billion Backs is an entertaining Futurama movie that contains all the gags and enjoyment from the TV series and is definitely recommended to all lovers of the series. However where the DVD does excel is in the special features that features quite a large list of bonuses that are quite enjoyable. Another winner from Fox!
