Featuring three great Doctor Who episodes from the start of the third series, Doctor Who Series 3 Volume 1 contains "The Runaway Bride", "Music and Monsters" and "Doctor Who Confidential Christmas Special". Starring David Tennant as the latest incarnation of Doctor, Tennant does a superb job at playing the quirky Doctor and match that with the equally talented Catherine Tate (Donna) as his companion and you have the right ingredient for Doctor Who. The main feature of the title is "The Runaway Bride" that has Donna preparing to Marry her boyfriend, however for the unfortunate wedding party, she vanishes and appears in the Tardis. In order to save the day, the Doctor attempts to return Donna only to discover that Donna is a pawn of the Empress Racnoss.
This DVD is definitely heavy on action and special effects which
manages to capture the original series with that fresh spark of the
21st century. Great stuff! The only downside are the special
features will are a little sparse when compared to classic Doctor
Who DVD's.
