This flick is a lot of fun, whilst not staying true to the comic book that has been around forever and a day. Starring Keanu Reeves as magician John Constantine, we are faced with a supernatural world where demons are real, so is magic. Constantine is forced into a battle that is not his as he is approached to solve what appears to be a suicide. A woman saying that the dead woman is her sister insists that it’s not and Constantine decides to take it personally when a friend of his is killed by a demon. Add to all that the fact that Satan wants John to burn in Hell forever and Heaven won’t take him, just adds to the intensity of this cool gothic adventure. With stunning visuals, gripping story and a Reeves that for once plays a role that is not totally wooden, Constantine is well worth the purchase. This movie is available as a double disc set that deals with the making of the film, the comic and also a selection of deleted scenes and other bits and pieces. Grab this one up, you really won’t be disappointed. From the disc: Hell wants him. Heaven won't take him. Earth needs him. Based on the DC/Vertigo comic book Hellblazer, Constantine tells the story of irreverent supernatural detective John Constantine who has literally been to hell and back. When Constantine teams up with skeptical policewoman Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) to solve the mysterious suicide of her twin sister, their investigation takes them through the world of demons and angels that exists just beneath the landscape of contemporary Los Angeles.
