VOTING OPENS FOR INNAUGURAL AUSTRALIAN GAMES AWARDS

Voting has opened today across 30 categories as Australian gaming culture takes centre stage

Sydney, November 26, 2018 – The Australian games community will now have their say as voting opens for the first ever Australian Games Awards.

Over 5,500 nominations were fielded from the community over a 10-day nomination.

282 individual nominees will now compete across the 30 categories, with multiple individuals and products featuring in multiple categories.

With all awards decided by the Australian Gaming Community, finalists are encouraged to engage their community to vote for them. Social driven assets for finalists are available, with community members able to promote that they voted following the completion of each category vote.

Joel Van Daal, Director of the Australian Games Awards said, “We were utterly blown away with the response to the call for nominations and are excited to see the scale of the voting period.”

“We are just over three weeks away from the event, which is shaping up to be the biggest celebration of video game culture in Australian history, and we can’t wait to celebrate it with the community.”

Voting is open through the Australian Games Awards website now, running through until midnight AEDT, on Friday December 7, 2018.

A short list of finalists for each category will be announced on Monday, December 10, 2018.

A limited number of 200 Ultimate fan tickets are available for purchase to attend the Australian Games Awards. In addition to a food and beverage package, attendees will receive an exclusive swag pack and have access to a special meet and greet. More information on this will be announced shortly.
