Tennis World Tour – Motion Capture For Animations

Sydney, 17th January, 2018. Bigben and Breakpoint are taking you behind the scenes of the motion capture which lets the developers of Tennis World Tour offer realistic gameplay.

Animation, the central element of a tennis game

To make the movements and ball exchanges fluid and faithful to real tennis, Breakpoint has called on several professional tennis players in order to record their movements. To have the best possible references, the motion capture was performed on a real tennis court and not in a studio, giving players the freedom to hit the ball and move around without constraint.

New professional players

In addition to the French player Lucas Pouille, seen in the video, the Australia Open is the moment to reveal other names that have just been added to the already announced list of players:

  • Stan Wawrinka, who won in 2014 and who distinguished himself by reaching the semi-finals in 2017
  • The Australian player Thanasi Kokkinakis who, along with his compatriot Nick Kyrgios who is also in the game, we would like to wish them good luck for their home tournament.

Tennis World Tour will be available in May 2018 on PlayStation®4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch™ and PC.

The game’s official Facebook page is now available so fans can follow all the news about the game in the coming months: https://www.facebook.com/tennisworldtourgame/
