SPLATOON 2: SPECIAL DEMO AVAILABLE TO DOWNLOAD FROM NINTENDO eSHOP TODAY AND INCLUDES A SEVEN-DAY FREE TRIAL FOR NINTENDO SWITCH ONLINE

Players can get 33 percent off Splatoon 2 on the Nintendo eShop until 31st March

19th March, 2019 – If you’re not among the 8 million* or so owners worldwide that have already jumped into the deep end to enjoy the ink-splattering fun of Splatoon 2 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo has a whale of a deal to help you test the waters. Starting from today, players can download the free Splatoon 2: Special Demo** from Nintendo eShop to prepare for the online event which will run from 1:00am AEDT / 3:00am NZDT on Wednesday, 20th March until 12:59am AEDT / 2:59am NZDT Tuesday 26th March. Players can download the Splatoon 2: Special Demo now by visiting the Splatoon 2 website.

During the demo period, players can experience 4-on-4 Turf War battles as well as Ranked Battle, Salmon Run and League Battle modes with their friends and other players online who own the full game. Cover the turf with your team’s colourful ink, customise your look with different weapons and apparel, and splat your enemies in an all-out ink-stravaganza! Not only will players have the chance to splat their hearts out during the demo period, they will also receive an email with a Nintendo eShop code to activate a seven-day free trial*** for Nintendo Switch Online just for downloading the demo. Players can use the code even if they’ve had a previous free trial.

Players who wish to purchase the full game will receive a 33 percent discount if bought via Nintendo eShop during the demo period. As an extra bonus, players will be able to transfer**** some of their demo progress over to the full game.

For those players who looking to take their new-found splat skills to the next level, they are welcome to join the second online qualifier for the Splatoon 2 Australasian Open, which will take place on Saturday 23rd March at 11:00am AEDT / 1:00pm NZDT. By visiting the Splatoon 2 Australasian Open website, players can register their own teams, or for those who don’t have a team, players can register solo and be matched up with similar solo splatters. The winning team from this online qualifier will join the winning team from the first online qualifier at Supanova Melbourne on April 6th and 7th to compete in the Grand Final. The Splatoon 2: Special Demo is available to download from Nintendo eShop starting today. Upon downloading the demo, players can participate in the online event from 1:00am AEDT / 3:00am NZDT on Wednesday, 20th March until 12:59am AEDT / 2:59am NZDT Tuesday 26th March and will also receive an email with a Nintendo eShop code to activate a seven-day free trial for Nintendo Switch Online. Players who purchase the full game on Nintendo eShop before Sunday, 31st March will receive a 33 percent discount.
