SYDNEY, Australia – March 30 2015 – Samsung Electronics Australia today announced the local pricing and availability for its next generation of smartphones, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. Evolving its flagship Galaxy smartphone with beautiful design and powerful hardware, the GS6 and GS6 edge combine premium material with expert craftsmanship – beautiful on the outside, powerful on the inside. Introducing a world-first in smartphone screen technology to Australians, the GS6 edge offers consumers a unique curved display on both sides of the device.

The new Galaxy smartphone range also offers astounding battery technology that will deliver faster charging and longer lasting power than ever offered in a Samsung device. It also offers built in wireless charging that can be activated by simply placing the device in a separate compatible charging stand (sold separately).
Beauty Meets Purpose
Expertly crafted using primarily a metal and glass casing, the GS6 and GS6 edge blend premium design with powerful processing capability that combine to offer an amazing mobile experience. Its screen and rear case is made from among the toughest glass to ever feature on a Samsung mobile device, Corning® Gorilla Glass® 4, which will help provide durability for users. The devices will be available in beautiful White Pearl and Black Sapphire glass.
This design and construction of the devices required unique glass crafting technology, helping to set the GS6 and GS6 edge apart. The premium build delivers true quality and style, complemented by a fresh and simplified user interface designed to make it easy to use the device.
For example, simply swiping the side of the GS6 edge screen allows users to check for calls and notifications from your favourite contacts, keeping connected in a stylish and accessible way.
Vivid Images with a Fast, Bright Camera
The GS6 and GS6 edge are equipped with an incredibly vivid, bright, and fast front and rear camera. The F1.9 lenses and high resolution sensors on both front (5MP) and rear (16MP) cameras provide outstanding image quality, even in lowlight conditions. A new “Quick Launch” feature provides fast, direct access to the camera from any screen by simply double clicking the home key button.
In addition, Auto Real-time High Dynamic Range (HDR), Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and IR Detect White Balance provide advanced camera functionality to help ensure images are beautifully captured every time.
Powerful battery and Wireless Charging Capability
With fully embedded WPC and PMA certified wireless charging technology, the GS6 and S6 edge are setting a new standard for Samsung in universal wireless charging. The devices can also work with any wireless charging pad available (sold separately) that supports WPC and PMA standards.
In addition, the devices sport incredibly fast wired charging which can provide about 4 hours of usage after approximately 10 minutes of charging*.
Samsung Mobile Security
The GS6 and GS6 edge are built on the upgraded Samsung KNOX, end-to-end secure mobile platform, offering features to help protect users from potential malicious attacks.
With an enhanced touch-type fingerprint scanner the GS6 and GS6 edge also provide quick authentication and log-in access to the phone’s function.

For a truly customised experience, the GS6 and GS6 edge come pre-loaded with Milk Music, giving users access to over 150 genre-based and curated stations which are intuitively tailored based on listening preferences.

With SmartSwitch, an app that allows people to easily transfer their music, videos, photos, contacts, calendar and more, from their old compatible smartphone to their new GS6 and GS6 edge, users will be able to get up and running quickly#.

Pricing and Availability
The GS6 and GS6 edge will be available for pre-order online from 5:00pm 30th March 2015 and pre-order in-store from 31st March 2015 and through selected operator partners.
The GS6 and GS6 edge will go on sale in Australia from 10th April 2015 with 32/64/128GB^ storage options available in White Pearl and Black Sapphire).
