Samsung Australia announces the new Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Tab A with S Pen

The new Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Tab A with S Pen offers a lightweight portable tablet for the everyday Australian.

SYDNEY, Australia – June 4, 2015 – Samsung Electronics Australia today announced the local launch of the 8.0-inch and 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Tab A with S Pen tablets. Featuring a lightweight portable design, a wealth of content offerings, and multiple personalised logins for different members of the family, the Galaxy Tab A is a great addition to any Australian household.

“The new Galaxy Tab A offers long lasting battery life, access to apps and an outstanding viewing experience while the Galaxy Tab A with S Pen offers all of these along with advanced stylus technology. As the Australian household becomes increasingly digital, it is essential to offer a tablet that is ideal for those who require a versatile product – whether used by Australians jotting down notes on-the-go or the kids playing their favourite educational games at home,” said Prasad Gokhale, Vice President – IT & Mobile – Samsung Electronics Australia. “The new Galaxy Tab A tablets expand our offerings to once again reaffirm our strong commitment to delivering a great tablet for all Australians.”

Intuitive S Pen (available with Galaxy Tab A with S Pen models only)

The enhanced S Pen on the Galaxy Tab A with S Pen offers intuitive ways to get things done. Jot down phone numbers, contact info, even text messages and Samsung’s handwriting-to-text engine can automatically convert notes to text. Help save time by hovering the S Pen over the screen and pressing the button on the side to bring up the Air Command menu. It gives quick, easy access to helpful functions.

For the everyday Australian

The Galaxy Tab A’s Multi User Mode allows each user to personalise their own tablet experience.

Family members can save their favourite settings and apps under an individual login. With up to eight separate, customised logins, family members can comfortably share the Galaxy Tab A around the household.

For the kids

Kids can learn in a fun and safe environment with Kids Mode. This feature gives parents some added peace-of-mind while providing a colourful, engaging place for kids to play. Australian parents can monitor their kid’s access and how long they spend using it, all while helping keep their own documents private*. Kids Mode helps keep personal content – and more importantly, the kids – safe and secure.

Exceptional viewing experience

The tablet’s 4:3 aspect ratio feature ensures an exceptional viewing experience for family members with a screen optimised for email, web browsing, social networking, playing games, watching movies, and reading websites or documents

Keep in touch and entertained

Family members can easily keep up with their favourite TV series through the Netflix, Presto, and Foxtel Go applications^. For music enthusiasts in the family, Samsung’s Milk Music, a streaming radio service that’s a fun way to discover and play the music they want to hear, will come pre-loaded on the tablet^. The entire family will also be informed of the current affairs with the bonus three-month digital subscription to The Australian newspaper**.

Working from home

Multi Window allows for easy multitasking and using Microsoft Office for Android™, family members can review and save changes to Word, PowerPoint, and Excel1 directly on the tablet.

Plus, with an additional 100 GB of storage on Microsoft OneDrive, complimentary for two years2, families can keep their favourite photos, videos and documents in one place.

The Galaxy Tab A also comes loaded with a variety of Galaxy Essentials and Galaxy Gifts from premium mobile content and service providers, available via download and chosen to make the experience with the device even more enjoyable.

Featuring a range of tools such as Quick Connect, SideSync 3.0 and Smart Switch, the Galaxy Tab A makes it easy to share content across compatible Galaxy devices.

Designed to keep you going

Family members can share the Galaxy Tab A around each room of the house thanks to its outstanding battery life of up to 12 hours on the 8.0 models and up to 14 hours on the 9.7 models. The battery life can be further extended with Power Saving and Ultra Power Saving Mode features.
