Summary: The Ready, Steady, Hatch book is a very colourful and fun adventure for children!

4.5

Colourful adventure!

This engaging and vibrant book by Ben Long and David Cornish centres around 10 chicks who have just hatched as they become indoctrinated into the bigger world. Unfortunately for one of the chicks in “Ready, Steady, Hatch!”, she becomes separated from the rest of her brood as the mother and her 9 chicks must leave their pumpkin patch in order to find their missing family member.

Thus begins a fun and colouful adventure that is filled with some clever rhyming plus humour thanks to author Ben Long. It is also accompanied by some very beautiful illustrations from David Cornish which really bring this tale to life. On that note, both Long and Cornish create this very fun story that children of all ages will become lost in the voyage of a mother and her 10 chicks.

Final Thoughts?

If you’re looking for another children’s book for their collection, Ready, Steady, Hatch by Ben Long and David Cornish create a charming tale that is not only cleverly written but features interesting characters as they search for their recently lost sister. Furthermore, the artwork of David Cornish really shines and adds a touch of magic to this very appealing tale.

All in all a fun read for the entire family!
