Norwegian songwriter guitarist and vocalist Ane Brun to perform for one night only at Arts Centre Melbourne’s Hamer Hall, 11 January 2017

Norwegian songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Ane Brun will perform for one night only at Arts Centre Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on 11 January 2017.

The Hamer Hall performance is part of a national acoustic solo tour, incorporating performances at the Sydney Festival and QPAC, and is built around the compilation albums Rarities and Songs 2003 – 2013.  Brun will also play tracks from her new album When I’m Free.

With a musical approach and style that is almost an amalgam of Bjork and Kate Bush, Brun’s diverse collaborations reflect that from the King of Future House to Oliver Heldens and Benny Andersson (ABBA). Her debut album was released in 2003, and since then she has recorded a further seven albums and also runs her own label, Balloon Ranger Recordings.

Now based in Sweden, Brun featured as one of the guests on Peter Gabriel’s 2011 studio album New Blood, singing on the re-recorded version of Don’t Give Up, recorded in 2010. She was subsequently invited to perform with him as support act and back-up singer on the New Blood tour throughout 2010.
