THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY- PART 1 tops the Australian box office – Roadshow Media Release

The girl on fire set the Australian box office alight yesterday (November 20) with THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY – PART 1 topping the charts in a record-breaking debut, one day ahead of the film’s US release.

The hotly anticipated third instalment of Suzanne Collins’ dystopian series claimed the #1 spot with an impressive $2.77m at 270 locations (including midnight sessions) to have the biggest opening day for 2014.

The Hunger Games and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire also opened #1 with $1.75m and $2.72m respectively.
