i've been told you can play gamecube games on the wii? Has anyone had a go? I don't want to go out and buy some and find they don't work very well.

Hi Vertigo,
you sure can! You just need a GameCube controller which can plug directly into the Wii. I believe you can also purchase attachments for this, try a games store or eBay.
cheers, Andrew

Yup you certainly can! My kids love the fact that they can have a WII yet still play their old game cube games as well. This was one fo the things that attracted me to the WII..the fact I didn't have to get rid of all the old games. All you need is a game controller which you can grab off ebay for next to nothing.

some ebgames have some gamecube games still available too - not any decent ones though - they are long gone

I dont remember seeing any GC games at my local EB for a while now - was hoping to find some at a Cash Converters store or garage sale etc where they might not realise how hard they are to find these days. Will have to hold off on buying the controller until I actually find some decent games for sale somewhere

ok - i've managed to get hold of Pokemon Colosseum for the gamecube - and on the gamecube you can use a special adaptor to connect the gameboy advance to use the pokemon from particular gameboy games - does anyone know if this adaptor will work on the Wii? I don't want to go out and buy one and find it will not work

ok another question - to save gamecube games on the wii - do you need a gamecube memory card? Will one even work in the Wii? Or can you use a regular sd memory card?
can anyone help with this and my previous question??
