When a Stranger Calls

When a Stranger Calls is a minimum effort horror movie that does it just enough to easily scare thirteen year old girls and unfortunately no one else. However, the brain trust that created this gem from the 1970's movie were on a winner that actually made this a sleeper hit, especially with its intended audience.

Simon west (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider) steps into the director's chair to bring this extremely clichéd horror movie to the big screen that revolves around the teenage babysitter Jill who is played by the delightful Camilla Bell. Things go from bad to worse when Jill discovers that someone is pranking her and when these threats become real, the action heats up.

Unfortunately the story is a rather hit and miss affair that only gave this seasoned horror movie veteran the occasional scare, fortunately the twist at the end makes up for what could of been one of the better horror movies.

Both the video and audio quality of this movie are exceptional and match that with a plethora of interesting special features and those who loved the movie at the bid screen are in for a mini-treat.

Special Features:
  • Audio Commentary by Director Simon West and Star Camilla Belle
  • Audio Commentary by Writer Jake Wade Wall
  • Never-before-seen deleted scenes
  • Behind-the-Scenes "Making Of" Featurette
