THE CELL 2

Poor budget and tight filming schedule just doesn’t excuse this shocker. The movie has almost nothing to do with The Cell – while not a excellent movie, at least a passable one – and retreats beyond even the quality of an indie movie.

The Cusp is a serial killer who likes to bring his female victims to the brink of death, and then back to life again, over and over until they beg for final release. Maya is a victim of his that escaped and has since developed psychic powers.  The FBI hire her to “go inside the mind of the killer.” This is the thin thread to the previous movie.

Terrible acting, ugly sets and cinematography, and poor CGI all add up to a bomb better avoided. Carefully side-step this one, and try not to make eye-contact.
