Star Wars the Clone War Season 1 Volume 4

Hot off the heels from Volume 3, Volume 4 of the highly acclaimed and popular Star Wars the Clone Wars computer animated series once again arrives on DVD. Featuring the last six episodes from this season, the battle between Separatists begins to take a turn for the worse. The main characters in this series include Anakin, Padmé, Ahsoka and Obi-Wan, however there are some great guest stars and supporting cast.

Instantly the viewer is thrown into the story with Padmé and Jar Jar being captured by the Separatists as they search for bio-weapons. Unfortunately as the series progresses, Padmé and Ahsoka are infected by the virus they were attempting to prevent, the deadly Blue Shadow virus as Anakin races against the clock to save their lives.

Not all the episodes in this last volume are about a race against the clock and episode 19 is a great episode which focuses on Ahsoka’s inexperience, especially when she leads her squadron into almost utter annihilation. This episode highlights the relationship between Jedi master and Padawan.

The final episode “Hostage Crisis” involves Anakin attempting to free the members of the Senate, including Padmé as the terrorists demand that the crime lord Ziro the Hutt be released. Although the Senate building is in lock down by the terrorists, unbeknown to them, Anakin is still free and the ending in this episode will surprise you.

As per usual, this last volume features some wonderful storytelling, amazing animation and artwork and nicely concludes this chapter of the Star Wars mythology. Thankfully, another season is in the works and I for one cannot wait. Highly Recommended!
