Half Light

When the darkness falls the dead will rise...

Half Light revolves around successful novelist Rachael Carson (Demi Moore) whose life is thrown into turmoil when her young son accidentally drowns. With not only her marriage and mental state on the verge of breakdown, a close friend recommends Rachael to travel to a secluded village where she can hopefully resume her writing career. Unfortunately for Rachael, things are not what they seem in this mysterious village.

Upon arrival, Rachael witnesses the ghost of her dead son and when she seeks answers from the village's psychic, she is turned away as an outcast. Forcing to find solace with a mysterious light house keeper, the strange events of Half Light continue that builds into an Earth shattering crescendo.

Craig Rosenberg is not only the writer of Half Light but also the director who incorporates a variety of interesting twists to make this thriller more than just your average ghost movie. With beautiful English locales, first class acting from Demi Moore, Hans Matheson and Henry Ian Cusick, the film unfortunately falls flat with a rather average screenplay that delivers a jagged storyline with clichéd twists. With that in mind, Rosenberg truly a unique twist that I'm sure 99% of the viewers will never guess. Still worth a look!

The video and audio quality of Half Light is exceptionally sharp and colourful, match that with crystal clear audio and an immersive soundtrack and this movie does have makings of a Hollywood blockbuster. Unfortunately when it comes for extras, this edition of Half Light delivers only the movie itself.

Actors: Demi Moore, Hans Matheson, Henry Ian Cusick, Kate Isitt, James Cosmo, Therese Bradley, Joanna Hole, Beans El-Balawi, Mickey Wilson & Jamie Edgell

Director: Craig Rosenberg
