Crucial Appoints New Chairman of the Board

Sydney, Australia, 25 February 2015: Leading Australian web hosting company, Crucial, has announced the appointment of Michael McGoogan as the new Chairman of the Board.

Mr McGoogan, who has over 10 years experience in the hosting industry and was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, founded UberGlobal, which grew to become Australia’s second largest hosting company.

He joins Crucial’s Board in the wake of UberGlobal’s recent acquisition by MelbourneIT, bringing his knowledge and experience to help guide Crucial through its next growth phase.

Crucial CEO, Ijan Kruizinga, said, “Michael will be an invaluable member of the Crucial Board and we’re looking forward to working with him. His experience in the Hosting industry, both in Australia and overseas, coupled with his passion and enthusiasm, will help us drive the business forward.”

Mr McGoogan said he is looking forward to the role “Crucial is in a very strong position and has an amazing culture. I am excited to be stepping into the chairmanship at a time when the industry is so well poised for future growth.”

Crucial, which featured in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 and BRW Fast 100, is planning substantial growth for the 2015-16 financial year as it further realigns itself with the needs of Australian small businesses.
