Carl Barron Adds Margaret Court Arena Due To Record Breaking Sold Out Shows

Carl Barron is yet again proving he is the nations favourite stand up comedian with  his new tour ‘Drinking with a Fork’ with less than 100 tickets now remaining, ahead of this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

After setting box office records and selling out all of his 89 shows across 20 venues nationwide including Newcastle, Wagga Wagga, Albury, Wangaratta, Mount Isa, Canberra, Port Macquarie, Darwin, Lismore, Coffs Harbour, Toowoomba, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Grafton, Cairns, Mackay as well as the Regent Theatre for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Margaret Court Arena, Melbourne, has been added to finish off the Melbourne leg of the tour on a much grander scale and to allow as many fans as possible to experience his show.

A Ticketmaster survey into the comedy industry revealed Barron as Australia’s most popular comedian and the third most popular comedian in the world* so it’s no surprise that his shows are selling fast, with one selling out in 90 minutes.

Barron said in his typically humble way: “I don’t really know what to make of all that stuff. Percentages and this and that; I just like making people laugh.”

After making over 300,000 Australian’s laugh on his last tour and taking a year off to star in his first feature film, it was only a matter of time before Australia’s most popular comedian announced more shows on the back of the Melbourne
International Comedy Festival.

Barron’s new tour has already eclipsed all previous ticket sales in each of the locations he’s returned to so far, including Melbourne with over 25,000 tickets gone already. He is still Australia’s biggest selling stand-up comedian on DVD in retail history.
