Rock Band: The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Axis : Bold As Love

It should probably be a law that when you’re setting yourself up to play a game such as Rock Band, that you’ve listened to the records of people such as Jimi Hendrix, but for those who aren’t accustomed to the history of rock music, Hendrix was one of the greatest and most influential guitarists and musicians not only of his generation, but of all time.

Now that the obvious has been stated, the latest DLC for Rock Band has been revealed as The Jimi Hendrix Experiences second album, Axis : Bold As Love, and needless to say, it’s a guitarists nirvana. As Hendrix songs are more structured around a rhythm and blues plucking of strings compared to the modern day strumming, the timing on the tracks can be a little hard to get your head around at first, but eventually your be as accustom to it as Bo Diddly.

All the tracks from the original release are here, aside from the ‘Exp’ track, but as a replacement for the psychedelic opener, we have been given the title track from the recently released ‘Valley Of The Neptunes’.

With the majority of the tracks sitting it either 4 or 5 on the difficulty scale, it’s safe to say that they aren’t for the weak of heart, but don’t let that deter you, this pack is the best training pack that is available on Rock Band, if you can master ‘One Rainy Wish’, ‘Wait Until Tomorrow’ or ‘You Got Me Floatin’, then you can virtually master any track that will ever be produced on Rock Band. The pack is a true challenge and at 1600 points isn’t bad value, so if you consider yourself a master of the opus, then get this back and separate the boys from the men.

Tracks

• Up From the Skies
• Spanish Castle Magic
• Wait Until Tomorrow
• Ain’t No Telling
• Little Wing
• If 6 Was 9
• You Got Me Floatin’
• Castles Made of Sand
• She’s So Fine
• One Rainy Wish
• Little Miss Lover
• Bold As Love
• Valleys of Neptune
